Dromin Athlacca 1-18 Cappamore 1-10

Not a day to remember for our senior hurlers. After a slow start Cappamore finally got into the rhythm of the game but it was too late and in the end Dromin-Athlacca were worthy winners.
U14 Feile na Ngeal B Final 5pm
Saturday 7 April 2018
Cappamore 4-6 Cill Mocheallóg 5-5
Venue: Cappamore
What was always going to be a tight and hard fought match versus Kilmallock lived up to its expectations. Cappamore got off to a fine start with a well taken point from Mikie Fitzgibbon. Kilmallock were quick to step things up and we found ourselves trailing by a goal from their ever threatening forward line.
A great puck out by Jamie Fahy found Mikie Fitzgibbon who after a fantastic run finished with the ball in the back of the net. The scores were coming quick with Kilmallock scoring a goal and two points before halftime. The Cappamore full forward line clicked into gear with all 3 scoring before half time Joe smith and Michael Ryan with a goal each and Evan Coleman scoring a fine point. Score at half time Cappamore up 4-02 to 2-02.
Kilmallock got the second half off to a flyer with 2 well taken points and looked to take over, however with Ultan Hogan leading the way Cappamore with points from Donnacha Hogan, Mikie Fitzgibbon and Sean Hayes replied.
Unfortunately as we entered the final few minutes we tired and the always dangerous Kilmallock forwards got the important scores.
Jamie Fahy in the Cappamore goals pulled off some great saves but the pressure told and Kilmallock ran out winners by 2 points, 5-05 to 4-06.
Team Jamie Fahy, Sam Scott, Arron Roulston, Tommie Meehan, James McCarthy, Matthew O’Malley, Seamus Hanley, Ultan Hogan Captain Sean Hayes, Donnacha Hogan, Mikie Fitzgibbon, Luke Ryan, Michael Ryan, Joe Smith, Evan Coleman. SUBS James Sullivan, Johny Meehan, Luke Scott, Jack O Donnell, Donnacha Ryan
As you would expect with two traditional hurling clubs involved a great crowd was present to witness a very entertaining match. Thanks to parents and supporters who together at short notice got the field ready for the match after a last minute change of venue.
Thanks to team manager Con Hayes for the match report.

Cappamore 2-14 Ahane 2-12
Cappamore played against the breeze in the first half and found it easy to get scores, our passage of play at times was very good and we worked our scores very well. We had a few goal chances and ended up taking two leading at half time 2-09 to 0-6 points.
In the second half Ahane upped their game and scored two goals of their own. It took Cappamore a good ten minutes to settle into the second half and register a score. In a tight second half Ahane scored 2-06 to Cappamores 0-5 points. Our first half effort was enough to see us over the line.

After a slow start we found ourselves down 1-2 to no score before working our way back into the game. Goals from Mikey Fitzgibbon and Michael Ryan settled Cappamore and left us up by 2 points at half time 3-2 to 1-6. In the second half scores were much harder to come by with Clan na Gael getting 2 points and Cappamore scoring a well taken goal by Michael Ryan. In a tense finish Cappamore defended well which was epitomized by a great clearance by Tommy Meehan in the latter stages of the game. Final score 4-2 to 1-8.
