Cappamore GAA and Camogie Results and Reports

Intermediate Camogie Championship

Cappamore 3-10 vs 0-10 Murroe/Boher
Monday 5 August
Playing with a strong breeze in the first half Cappamore went in at half time 3 points up. There were mumblings around the large attendance that it wasn’t enough of a margin. However in the second half Cappamore upped their game against the strengthening wind running at the opposition at every opportunity and pulling away from Murroe/Boher for a comprehensive victory.

Cappamore u10s
On a wet Friday evening we travelled to Hospital to take part in the Regional Hurling Blitz.
We played 3 games vs Croom, Glenroe and Pallasgreen. This was our best and most competitive outing of the season so far. With very little to separate the teams in all matches we did very well to come away with two wins and a draw. A great performances from the lads all over the field. We had some fine scores on the night from Ogie Ryan, Scott O’ Connor and Conor O’ Carroll. In the backs Padraig Ryan and Cathal Fitzgibbon were on top throughout with Dylan Mcgahan and Declan Ryan in great form in mid field.
Team : Cathal Fitzgibbon, Padraig Ryan, Sam Walsh, Jack Carr, Dylan Mcgahan, Harry Gleeson, Donnacha Gill, Declan Ryan, Sonny Ryan, Ogie Ryan, Scott O’Connor, Ross Ryan, Conor O’ Carroll.

Intermediate Camogie Championship

Cappamore 0-13 vs 2-10 Croagh/Kilfinny
Monday 11 August
Half time score Cappamore 0-4 Croagh Kilfinny 1-9. A slow start was to cost us dearly at the final whistle as we left ourselves with too much to to do in the second half, but credit to the girls after being harshly reduced to 14 just before the break they put in a mighty shift in the second half to bring it back to one score. Lady luck wasn’t with us though as a close range free came back off the post in the dying minutes to deny us a share of the game, no doubt if there was a few more minutes in it we would have clawed it back.
Team: Anna Ryan, Aisling Kennedy, Aisling O Malley, Siobhan Berkery, Lisa English, Muireann Creamer, Amy O Brien, Marie Berkery, Emily Hayes, Lizzy O Dwyer, Claire Keating, Elaine Berkery, Amy Leonard, Molly Hammersley, Lisa Leonard, Fiona Holmes, Roisin O Malley, Aisling Heffernan, Teresa MC Kenna, Emily Sheehy,

Cappamore 2-12 vs 2-12 Newcastlewest
On another wet Monday Cappamore started Round 5 of the championship in great style with points from S Whelean, PJ Hogan and goals from Luke Ryan and M Fitzgibbon. A monster free from L O’Donnell had us ahead 2-9 vs 0-6 points.
