St. Stephens Day Charity walk:
What a wonderful turnout we had for our charity walk on St Stephen Day. We were overwhelmed with the support and blessed with the weather. Thanks to all who turned up to take part in the walk, gave donations on the day and through Revolut. The total raised was €9737.17. The support shown was a reflection of how deserving both charities are, and also a testament to the lovely person Niamh was and how much she was loved by so many. Along with the donations to both charities, we gave a donation to the Irish Heart foundation in memory of Brian Ryan. Brian was a loyal supporter of the charity walk and completed it every year. We would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to all who helped out during the course of the walk. Thanks to those who got the route ready, put up the signs, directed traffic, parked cars, made tea and cleaned up. Thanks to all who donated biscuits, sweets and minerals. A special word of thanks to Padraig Ryan for providing his tractor and generator to give us power so we could all enjoy a warm cup of tea after the walk. Thanks to Bilboa AC for providing the Burker boilers. Thank you to Noel and Philomena Gleeson and Breda and Simon Earlie for the use of their yards for parking. Thank you to Mike Hynan and St. Michaels Day Care centre for the use of their buses free of charge. Without them the walk would not be possible. A very big thank you to Jimmy Dawson and Simon Earlie for giving up their day to drive the buses. Thank you to John Mulready for providing first-aid on the day. We hope everyone enjoyed the walk, the cup of tea, and the chat afterwards.
