Bilboa National School:

Are delighted to announce their 2024 Annual Christmas Fair. Speaking on behalf of the Bilboa National School Parents Council, Noreen Walsh, Chairperson said, “This is a community event for all parents, pupils, and the local community to come together and show their support for our thriving school. We all work together to provide a fun filled day’s entertainment for everyone who attends.” The fair will take place on Sunday, November 19th in the Community Centre, Cappamore at 2pm.

There are many events taking place at the Bilboa National School Christmas Fair. There will be some great prizes to be won on the day. There is something for everyone! There are entertaining activities planned such as Guess the weight of the cake, face painting, Tin Can game and the ever popular “Hang tough”. There will be household items along with preloved formal wear, crafts, Christmas decorations, Bric A Brac, cakes and plenty of sweet treats, bargain children’s toys, books, fuel and of course the famous “Spin the Wheel”. Our MC Simon will be busy on stage with 13 rounds where people can win with fantastic prizes and Christmas hampers. The 5th and 6th class children at the school were busy preparing posters as part of a competition for the fair. All children made a great effort for this, and we picked 6 pupils who we felt were exceptional and their names are Alisha Kelly, Shane Kelly, Nicole Heney, Ethan Ryan, Ava Egan and Colin Bourke. And these posters are used as part of our advertising for the fair. And of course, all this would not take place without Santa Claus, and he will be in high spirits mingling with the community and all the children. Keep informed via our social media pages on Facebook and Instagram

Public Meeting:

An unprecedent attendance of concerned parents and members of the wider community of Cappamore were present at a public meeting held in Cappamore Community Centre on Wednesday night 9th of October. Scoil Chaitríona primary school is expanding rapidly and is restricted with space. The Board of Management made an offer to the Cappamore Housing Association, to transfer the ownership of the Convent building and the grounds to Scoil Chaitríona last June, which was rejected. The community showed full support to Scoil Chaitríona on the night. Let us hope this issue can be resolved sooner than later, for the benefit of the parish. A huge thank you to the community for their support.
