Limerick Event: Listening to the Voices of Local History and Community Heritage – Oral History Network of Ireland Meet Up

My name’s Daisy and I’m the Oral History Network of Ireland’s Strategic Development Officer. I’m running a series of free networking and feedback sessions for oral historians and anyone interested in history and heritage more generally over the week 19-25 June, our first event will be taking place tomorrow on 19 June at Absolute Hotel in Limerick from 2-4pm.

I’m emailing to invite anyone from your organisation that might be interested and also to ask if it’s possible for this invite to be circulated to your network, please. OHNI is dedicated to supporting the preservation of oral, local and institutional histories and we think many from your network would enjoy the event.

We’d really love to see you there!

All the best,

Daisy

Event: ‘Listening to the Voices of Local History and Community Heritage with the Oral History Network of Ireland’

Where: Absolute Hotel, Limerick City

Date and Time: 2 – 4pm, Wednesday 19 June

Details: Free, registration via website, open to all with an interest

The Oral History Network of Ireland (OHNI) is delighted to be hosting a regional meet up at Absolute Hotel, Limerick City from 2pm – 4pm on Wednesday 19 June to bring together oral historians, history enthusiasts, and any interested members of the local community, both OHNI members and non-members.

The meet up will be an opportunity for history and heritage enthusiasts to network in their local area and hear more about the oral history projects near them. We’d also love to hear from them about how OHNI can promote and support oral histories across Ireland, whether they’re already working in oral history or interested in getting started on a project, and so a portion of the event will include a feedback session.

One attendee from the event will also be entered into a free raffle to win their choice of an OPW Heritage Card, OHNI online training workshop, or a year’s membership to OHNI! The sessions will also include an opportunity to hear clips from oral history projects local to each meet up.

Registration is now open via the OHNI website, and attendance is free for all. OHNI would like to thank the Heritage Council for its generous support of these events.
