Cappamore Celtic FC:

Congratulation to Rita Cahill who won the most recent Spilt The Bucket draw, which was held in Maddens Bar in Cappamore last week. The winning ticket was pulled by David Madden and a cheque for €318 is on the way to Rita.

Cappamore Convent:

The building is nearly fully occupied with 4 children attending local primary school and some attending Cappamore Campus all are doing very well. Limerick County Council in conjunction with Cappamore/Kilmallock area councillors and Housing Association will host a welcome morning in community centre when building is fully occupied we will keep people updated on same To date it is all families that is being housed.

Cappamore Xmas Bingos:

It continue each Thursday night at 8pm prize money each night of 2600 also Bingo Lotto and Xmas raffle for hampers and turkeys

Seeking 8 young people in the Ballyhoura region aged between 18-30 to become Young Community Leaders.

Ballyhoura Development is currently looking for 8 young people aged 18-30 who are interested in volunteering in their local community to participate in pilot training across 2023.

The Training will include a trip to Italy, where young people will have the opportunity to meet other young people from across Europe and participate in community-led local development focused workshops, activities and the development of a Tool Kit and policy paper.

How to apply?

In order to apply for this opportunity, a young person aged 18-30 will need to supply the following:

  • Letter of Sponsorship from a local community group in the Ballyhoura area. The young person will be expected to work with the local community group to implement their learning. The letter should outline why the community group thinks the young person is suitable and what volunteering opportunities are available for this young person.
  • CV of young person outlining their education and experience.
  • Application letter from the young person detailing why they think they are suitable, their experience, why they want to volunteer in their local community and why they want to participate in this programme.

Christmas Concert:

Friends of Abington Church together with the Sliabh Feilim Singers and special guests, including the Mulcair Men’s Shed Choir, present a Christmas Concert on Sunday, 11th December at 5 o’clock in Abington Church. All proceeds to Ukrainian Refugees. Admission €10 and children free. Donations will also be gratefully accepted. Come along for some festive music and singing!
