Our Premier Intermediate Hurling team played their final Championship game in this years changed format last Saturday in Claughaun. Their opponents were Mungret St. Pauls. The pressure was really on Cappamore going this final game with a reduced panel due to a number injuries. They also needed to get a positive result to remain Premier Intermediate next year. With a number of changes, all the team responded positively and produced a big performance on the day. We began with strong physicality and good attacking play and were well in contention at the first water break. We were a point up at half time with all players doing well. Cappamore were still playing very well up to the second water break and were ahead going into the last quarter. Mungret put on serious pressure in the final few minutes and both teams finished all square.
Cappamore 3.12
Mungret 1.18
This result guaranteed Cappamore retained their Premium Intermediate status next year.

Full time score, Cappamore 2.6 to Pallasgreen 1.5
J O Sullivan put us on the scoreboard with a great opening point from play. A fine display from some of our younger players M Walsh and E Ryan put us 0.3 to 0.1 up at the waterbreak. A goal from play from M Walsh and 0.1 from J O Sullivan put us 1.4 to 0.3 at half time. Alot of decisions that didnt go our way, didnt stop the lads from battling hard. Unfortunately our goalie took a hit and was substituted by E Coleman. Wishing Jamie a speedy recovery. Minor camogie 12 aside County semi final 3rd August 2020 in Manor fields adare.
Murroe-Boher/Cappamore 2-8 Adare 1-2

This is a group of girls that are getting better and better with every game they have played in this championship and deserve to be in the county final. From the very start of this game we were on top of Adare, who only had 11 available players so we had to play 11 aisde, the girls got off to a great start scoring 4 quick points. There was some fantastic displays from our backs especially Laurie Quaid , Melissa Thompson and Sophie Roche who were making sure Adare were not going to get too many scores on the board. Sophie Quaid in goals also pulled off some great saves to deny adare a goal or two before half time. The girls kept putting pressure on Adare every chance they got resulting in them getting the very deserved results. If they continue playing like they have in there last three games they will have a very good chance of winning the final which is set for the 20th August, details to be confirmed.

Cappamore 4-5
Crecora Manister 3-6
Well done to the lads who played out a very entertaining match in what was their first competitive game for most of the panel
We got off to a great start with a goal and a point from Tommy Dillon following great work by our forwards. Crecora hit back with 2 points from play but Cappamore with the aid of the wind finished the half stronger with two points from Cathal Fitzgibbon and a second goal from Tommy Dillon following good work from Martin Ryan. The 2nd half was more evenly contested. Crecora had a goal and a 2 points on the board early. Cappamores defence was much busier now against the wind but they fought hard. Paudie Ryan and Tommy Hartnett made many vital clearances. James Ryan also got though a huge amount of work in midfield and was rewarded with a fine point mid way through the half. Crecora hit back for another goal to close the gap to the minimum however two goals and a point in quick succession from Cathal Fitzgibbon and Scott O’ Connor put daylight between the sides again. Crecora rounded off the scoring late on with a goal and point. Well done to all the lads who put in a spirited performance to get the campaign off to a winning start

Dairygold SOS campaign – Update

Update on Dairygold SOS campaign:
Apologies it has been a while since our last update. But rest assured we have been working tirelessly in the background which eventually resulted in a recent meeting with the Dairygold CEO Jim Woulfe and representatives of the board and management.

Despite presenting what we believed were many valid proposals and incentives on how the Store could remain open and viable into the future, Dairygold were unwilling to engage in meaningful discussion and were adamant that the store will close on Sept 18th.

Therefore we will be having a Public Protest outside the Store this Saturday at 11am. As we have reached a critical stage in our campaign your support for this protest would be appreciated.
